Rust is an iron oxide formed by the reaction of iron and oxygen in the presence of water or air moisture. Outdoor taps and handles are prevalent to such stains alongside calcium and limescale clog ups from hardwater coming through the pipes out of the tap. CLR Calcium Limescale & Rust Remover is the perfect solution.
Before you get started, always use gloves and check if CLR is suitable to be applied on the material you are trying to clean. Test the CLR on an inconspicuous spot first before applying to entire surface.
Fill a bucket or container with 1 part CLR Calcium Limescale & Rust Remover to 1 part water.
Apply the solution onto the tap and handle with a sponge.
Let solution sit for 2 minutes, then scrub area to agitate the build up.
Rinse the tap and handle thoroughly with cold water.
Stubborn build up and rust stains may require another cleaning with neat CLR. Repeat the process for no more than 2 minutes at a time, until CLR Calcium Limescale & Rust Remover has effectively dissolved the build-up. For Blocked or slow tap, follow the showerhead method.
